축구 대표팀 사령탑 후보군 가운데 한 명인 김도훈 감독이 KBS와의 단독 인터뷰에서 대표팀 감독을 맡지 않겠다고 밝혔습니다. 이 와중에 국가대표 감독 선임을 총괄하는 정해성 전력강화위원장은 조금전 자진 사퇴 의사를 밝혔는데요. 축구대표팀 사령탑 선임. 더욱 안갯속으로 빠져들고 있습니다. 김기범 기자가 보도합니다.

[리포트]

6월 월드컵 2차 예선 두 경기를 안정적으로 치르며 유력한 대표팀 사령탑 후보로 떠오른 김도훈 감독.

외국인 감독과 협상이 난항에 빠지면서 국내파 김도훈 감독이 유력한 후보로 거론됐지만 KBS와의 전화 인터뷰에서 사령탑 제안 거부 의사를 분명히 밝혔습니다.

[김도훈/전 축구대표팀 임시 감독 : "12인 후보 제의가 있었던 것 같은데, 저는 거절했죠. 괜히 제 이름이 계속 오르락내리락하는 게 좀 그렇네요."]

김 감독은 애초부터 국가대표 감독보다는 클럽팀 지휘봉을 원했다고 이유를 설명했습니다.

[김도훈 : "저는 대표팀보다 팀(클럽)을 맡아서 하는 게 좋고, 대표팀하려고 했으면 클린스만 때 수석 코치 제의가 왔어요. 그때도 제가 고사했거든요."]

외국인 감독 후보들 사이에서 더이상 들러리로 서 있고 싶지 않다는 속내가 드러난 겁니다.

김도훈 감독이 거부 의사를 명확히 밝히면서, 차기 사령탑 선임 작업은 더욱 안갯속에 빠졌습니다.

게다가 감독 선임을 총괄하는 정해성 전력강화위원장이 오늘 축구협회를 찾아와 사퇴 의사를 밝혔습니다.

최종 후보군 압축 과정에서 축구협회와 이견이 있었던 것으로 알려지고 있습니다.

2월 클린스만의 사퇴 이후 넉달 넘게 표류하고 있는 대표팀 감독 선임 과정에 대한 우려의 목소리는 점점 커지고 있습니다.
