"Languages of the peoples of the Caucasus" is a project dedicated to the 2019 year declared by the UN as the year of the languages of the world's indigenous peoples.

The Caucasus is a unique region where dozens of unique human languages are interwoven. Many of them have no related groups and are fragments of the languages of the ancient inhabitants of Asia Minor and Europe, preserved in the Caucasus Mountains in a unique way.

Our task is to preserve the words of these languages and share them with the world. In a series of graphic clips supplemented by infographics, you will learn more about the languages and language groups of the Caucasus, about the speakers of these languages - their number and places of residence, about the peculiarities of the history of the peoples - speakers of Caucasian languages.

We have prepared for you 200 words and 30 colloquial phrases in the main languages and dialects of the peoples of the Caucasus, written and voiced by people for whom they are native. We will accompany some videos with information and sound of extinct and ancient forms of the languages of the Caucasus, thanks to cooperation with linguists.

Rare languages are rare jewels and our joint task is to preserve the diversity of the culture of all mankind for future generations in the context of globalization and digitalization of the world. Prof. Thompson: Neither Russians nor those who read Russian literature abroad look at those stories and I'm not just thinking of Pushkin in the Caucasus also Lermontov in the Caucasus an incredibly strong example of what I'm talking about. This was a genocide. and that as he said the Caucasus people didn't hate the Russians. They were beyond hate. They were so terribly destroyed that they couldn't even hate. it was it's a beautiful story should be read by everyone that is interested in Russian history and of course the Caucasus was not the only the only area Russians committed atrocities when you think about the conquest of Siberia which is really not written about much either in the West or in the East. That is something that still awaits his chronicler what was happening there we know a little bit of it but we do not really know the details and something that I think we should know but again the West just looks at War and Peace and looks at anna karenina and says well are are masterpieces or they are actually but you know you can you can be a great writer and at the same time promote a very uh evil ideology that happens in Germany a lot so Russia as well.
