Attack on Nalchik on October, 13th 2005
during 9:00 up to 10:00 mornings Moscow time bigots have made an attack at once on several objects in the city of Nalchik to capital of Kabardino-Balkariya.
Bigots have fired at the airport, three police stations, military unit, a military commissariat, a building of FSB, a building of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, hunting shop "Arsenal". Some objects have been taken by storm. Attempt has been undertaken to blow up a station of mobile communication of "Megaphone" company. In the city went fights, some buildings were set on fire, telecommunication was absent.
14/10/2005 the last remaining 3 points in which the insurgents and their taken hostages were kept: five were in two cabinets of a building 3-rd Department of Internal Affairs, three - in shop "Souvenir", 12 insurgents in building of GUIN. All hostages were released.

According to law enforcement sources, in that attack on objects in Nalchik participated from 80 up to 200 insurgents (the majority of them was inhabitants of Nalchik), armed by machine-guns, RPGs, and AKMs, they moved on cars by mobile groups on 5 persons. The responsibility for this incursion took the extirmist group "Kavkaz front" situated in Chechnya. This invasion was presided by so called "amir" Assadula.
The president of Kabardino-Balkaria Arsen Kanokov has declared, that in an attack to Nalchik participated about 150 extremists from radical branch of Wahhabi - Yarmuk). Law enforcement officials confirm, that the attack to Nalchik was reaction of bigots to the operation which had begun on the eve on destruction of a grouping of Islamic radicals in area of settlement Belaya Rechka, and had for an object to distract operating forces from this group and to enable those beagot group to leave. According to the documents withdrawn on that basis of bigots the action has been planned in advance, by the force of 16 attack groups consisted of 8 - 15 persons in each. In total, in that attack should have participated some 240 persons, but because of a preventive attack on bigots' base, their operation has gone out of the plan.

As the result have been eliminated 87 and 50 terrorists were detained, 12 civilians and 35 militiamen and law-enforcement officers were killed, more than 100 person were wounded (85 law enforcement officers of them).

Nalchik (Karachay-Balkarian Nalchiq, Nalchyk[3], Russian: Nalchik; Kabardian: Nalshyk) is the capital of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, located in the North Caucasus in southern Russia. It is located at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains, at an altitude of 550 meters. The city is spread over an area of 150 km2.[4] The city has a green area of 991 hectares. Population: 240,203 (2010).

On the site of the present-day city of Nalchik, according to records, Kabardians and Balkars lived since 1743. Kent, 19. in the XIII century, it was founded as a military fortress in 1818 by the Russians, who captured the region during the Ottoman-Russian War of 1768-1774. Nalchik was an insignificant settlement before the October Revolution of 1917. It received the status of a city as the center of the Kabardino-Autonomous Oblast, which was established on September 1, 1921. There are road and railway extensions from the main roads in the North Caucasus to Nalchik, as well as a small airport.

The city of Nalchik takes its name from the Nalchik River on which it is founded. But this name is not considered to be directly derived from the word nal in Turkish

Я горжусь тем, что я черкес.
Нет никакой моей личной заслуги в том, что я родился черкесом, но я все равно горжусь.
154 года назад завершилась Русско-Черкесская война, длившаяся 101 год. Эта война стала катастрофой для черкесов. Цвет нации сложил свои головы, остатки были изгнаны со своих земель и депортированы за сотни и тысячи километров от своей Родины. Лишь считанные проценты смогли выжить и остаться на своей земле. Никто не мог себе представить, что и они не будут в скором времени полностью ассимилированы, а память о них стерта из истории.
Ни для одного народа Северного Кавказа последствия этой войны не были столь катастрофичны. Никто из остальных народов не понес таких потерь, а многие лишь увеличились в своей численности. Практически все приобрели новые территории, освобожденные от своих прежних хозяев огнем и мечом.
И вот прошло 154 года, а черкесы все еще живы, все еще жив наш язык, мы еще помним, кто мы такие.
Мы единственный народ в России, кто не забыл события полуторавековой давности. Не забыли, потому что черкесам есть, что помнить!
Мы выходим на улицы со своими флагами, без триколоров, без портретов Путина, сами, без принуждения. Мы выходим, и можем пройти по улицам, громко заявляя, что мы едины и живы и совсем не собираемся умирать.
И мы в этот день едины, где бы мы не жили, Северный Кавказ это, Израиль или Турция, Иордания, Европа или США.
Я горжусь!
