This film should prove of interest to those who are interested in Circassian literature and customs and traditions. Intermediate- and advanced-level learners of Kabardian would find in this film an opportunity to gauge and improve their comprehension skills.

Circassian writer and poet Saladin Zhileteizh (Жылэтеж Сэлэдин) was born of a peasant family in the village of Arschidan in Kabarda in 1940. He worked as an editor at the Kabardian State Television for many years, starting in 1976. Some of his works were turned into television film. Zhileteizh also produced literary collections for children.

On May 21, marking the anniversary of the end of the Caucasian War, about 4000 members of the Caucasian Diasporas in Turkey took part in mourning march to the walls of the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul. This year, the policemen stopped the procession 50 meters before the territory of the Consulate and let only several members of the Diaspora to lay a wreath with inscription reading "153 years of the Circassian genocide".
