Circassian Chicken Recipe - Traditional Turkish Recipes
Circassian Chicken
Serves 5-6 people
Cooking time: 20 minutes on medium heat.
Ingredients:
6 thin slices of bread,
2 boiled chicken breasts,
480ml of warm milk,
100g of finely ground walnuts,
2 cloves of garlic,
1 tablespoon of chilli flakes,
4 tablespoons of olive oil,
1 dessert spoon of salt,
1 teaspoon of black pepper,
2 tablespoons sunflower oil.
Tips for the perfect dish: Eat when fresh and avoid storing for long periods of time.
Preparation: Remove the bread crusts and place the bread in a bowl. Add 240ml of warm milk and use a utensil to apply gentle pressure to soften the bread. Make sure all the milk is absorbed by the bread, Add 4 tablespoons of olive oil, the finely ground walnuts, a teaspoon of salt and 2 crushed cloves of garlic. Shred the cooked chicken and add to the other ingredients. Add the teaspoon of black pepper. To get the right consistency, add the remaining warm milk and knead all the ingredients for 1-2 minutes. For serving, heat 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil in a pan and sprinkle 1 tablespoon of chilli flakes on top. Stir and then remove from the stove. Transfer the chicken mixture to a serving plate and pour over the oil and pepper sauce before serving.
