Cahit Aslan Kimdir?
Baba tarafından Adigelerin Besleney boyundan ve ”Simha” sülalesinden, anne tarafından ise Abazaların Aşuva boyundan ve “Moran” sülalesinden olan Cahit Aslan, Adana’da doğmuştur.

İlkokul, ortaokul ve liseyi Adana’da bitiren Cahit Aslan, lisan ve yüksek lisan eğitimini Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Edebiyat Fakültesi Sosyoloji Bölümünde, doktora eğitimini se Ankara Üniversitesi, DTCF-Sosyoloji Bölümünde tamamladı. Lisans bitirme tezini “Kuzey Kafkasyalılarda Sosyal ve Kültürel Değişme, Yüksek Lisan tezini “Göçmen Ailelerinin Bürokratik Örgütlerle İlişkisi” ve Doktora tezini ise “Etnisite ve Kimlik: Nusayriler ve Çerkesler Üzerine Bir Karşılatılması” başlıklı çalışmalarıyla tamamlamıştır.

Doçentliğini de sosyoloji alanında alan Cahit Aslan’ın akademik çalışmalarının büyük bir kısmını sosyolojinin alt disiplinleri olan göç sosyolojisi, etnisite, sosyal yapı ve değişme, kimlikler ve sosyal hareketler sosyolojisinden oluşmaktadır. Kamuoyunda Akademik, Anı - Anlatı - Günlük - Seyahatname, Edebiyat kategorilerinde eserler yazmış popüler bir yazar olarak tarif edilen Cahit Aslan’ın çalışmalarında Kafkasya, Çerkesler, Kafkasya jeopolitiği önemli bir yer tutmaktadır.

“Andaç” ile “Ritsa” isminde iki kız çocuğu sahibi olan Cahit Aslan, halen Çukurova Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesi, Felsefe Grubu Eğitimi Ana Bilim Dalı’nda sosyoloji öğretim üyesi olarak görev yapmaktadır.
